Super•Cor® in the high-tech fore ground. Picturesque Marshes Golf Course is located in the middle of Kanata's High Tech Community often referred to as Silicone Valley North . Owner Terence Matthews was a co-founder of Mitel Corporation in 1972 and founded Newbridge Networks in 1986. He owns the Brookstreet Resort in Kanata where he styled the Marshes Golf Coarse after his Celtic Manor Resort in Wales. This course has been selected for the 2010 Ryder Cup.
Kanata Research Park. The Kanata properties are managed under Kanata Research Park. Because the Course was built in the proximity of High Tech companies, such as Alcatel, Nokia, March Networks and others, it was necessary to cross existing roadways. As part of the civil design, Nova Tech Engineering Consultants looked at various road crossing options.
Cost-effective with natural stone finish. AIL's Super•Cor® Arch was chosen as a cost effective structure to allow for the passage of golf carts and golf maintenance equipment underneath Terry Fox Drive in 2 locations and under Fourth Line Road. The Kanata area is mostly built on rock and with a lot of cap rock from blasting operations, armor stone has become quite dominant in much of the landscape. With this in mind, AIL offered the solution of short headwalls of corrugated galvanized steel to be finished off with armor stone wingwalls to match the topography of the culvert entrances.
