An automatic choice for NB road teams. When a local road at picturesque Porter Brook, near Boiestown New Brunswick, needed a bridge replacement, there was no question about what type of structure to use. The durability and cost efficiency of the Super•Cor® Box Culvert made it the obvious choice.
Wide span and maintenance-free. "We'd used Super•Cor® structures twice before, and there are a number of things we like about it. It extends across quite a width of river. We anchored the Box Culvert into concrete footings. We had a natural stream bed so the footings are on ledge rock. It's going to be very durable. We expect it will last for at least 75 years. There's no upkeep required for the bridge decks. WIth other types of decks, like concrete or wood laminate." - John Cormier, Assistant District Engineer
Project came in under budget, even with a rookie team. Super•Cor® Box Culverts are easier and more economical to install and maintain. Their components can be assembled in less time than concrete bridges.
"The Porter Brook job was super, the best yet. And, you don't have to be an engineer to work with the product. We had a first year supervisor, two experienced workers and five local men who had never worked on this type of project. It was the biggest type of bridge replacement that we've done and we came in under budget." - Elmo MacIntosh, District Bridge Superintendent
