The Golden Ears Bridge crosses the Fraser River and establishes a
vital corridor between Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Surrey and Langley via
a connecting 14 km road system.
Proven retaining wall expertise
and product performance led to AIL and Vist-A-Walls being selected for
this project. Both Wire Walls and Precast Panel Walls were used, with
the latter including a custom-cast Eagle motif.
One unique
challenge was the low bearing capacity of the soft foundation soils
which required the use of lighter weight pumice and river sand as
backfill materials.
