AIL marks 50 years in business

AIL marks 50 years in business

This year will be a very special year for everyone at Atlantic Industries Limited (AIL), as we celebrate our first half-century in business and look forward to the next.

“Major milestones like this cause us to both appreciate our past accomplishments and increase the focus on our future goals,” comments AIL President, Mike Wilson. “We’ve been successful, but it hasn’t always been easy. Situations changed and we often had to go out and create opportunities — or as I like to refer to it — engineer our own success.”

Engineering and success have been part of AIL’s DNA since our humble beginnings in 1965, when Mike’s father, the late John W. Wilson, founded the company in tiny Dorchester Cape, New Brunswick, with a $10,000 investment, a riveter and a staff of 10. “It was a very small shop,” Mike Wilson recalls, “Dad shared a small front office with a secretary, while a lone salesman sought business on the road.”

AIL grew steadily through a commitment to product innovation, dependable field service and strategic acquisitions. Today, The AIL Group of Companies has operations across North America and affiliates around the world.

“Our strength has been our talented people,” adds Mike “And I’m looking forward to celebrating our 50th anniversary with them as the year rolls out and we get down to engineering another 50 years of success together.”
