As part of the Metrolinx LRT expansion in Toronto, a temporary crossing was needed for construction vehicles to cross a series of high-voltage utility lines near the Leaside Bridge in the Don Valley. This was an urgent request because construction of major pile works for the elevated LRT line had been stalled over the issue.

We proposed an uncoated (black steel) Super-Cor Arch on precast concrete footings with MSE Wire Walls with fabric at the face. The order was given to us on the condition that we deliver material and IFC drawings within a four-week window.
Here’s how we made in happen
Because of the short timeline, we worked with conceptual designs to start manufacturing and had the fabrication prioritized. The contractor, Leaside Builders, was pleased when our manufactured product and the IFC drawings were all delivered on time.
During site visits, we were able to review some construction challenges and provide valuable insights to help keep things moving.
