The AIL Vist-A-Wall MSE Structural Wall System is being used to build bridge abutments and retaining walls as part of an 18 km Highway 401 Expansion Project through the Peel and Halton Regions of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The widening project runs from the Credit River in Mississauga to Regional Road 25 in Milton, with widths growing to 10 and 12 lanes.
The Vist-A-Wall Precast Panel Walls are in natural concrete with either Ashlar Stone and Smooth finishes. Along the way, a temporary Wire Faced shoring wall was also supplied on short order to facilitate staged construction in one area. The overall project is ongoing.
We are pleased to be working with Brennan Infrastructures Inc. (a member of the Miller Group of Companies) on this larger design-build project. We feel it has been another great demonstration of our Vist-A-Wall System’s versatility and our capability as a partner on larger projects.
Design-build projects are challenging
We basically faced all of the challenges that come with larger design-build projects — design changes on the fly, changes in scope, additional material, scheduling changes — but the AIL Team is accustomed to reacting and adapting to change.
Also supplied temporary Vist-A-Wall Wire Walls
The contractor originally indicated that they wouldn’t need a temporary shoring wall for their staged construction. However, at the time of the construction they realized that they did require it and we were able to supply it on a quick turn-around.
Miller was pleased with the outcome and we are already discussing working with them on their next large design-build project in the GTA.
