AIL’s optional Best•Kote Polymer Coating offers superior protection and long-term durability for our structural steel plate in harsh environments. We have partnered with some of the industry’s foremost coating developers to develop Best•Kote Polymer Coating to give our Ultra•Cor, Super•Cor and Bolt-A-Plate structures an extended service life of over 75 years.
Two layers of 360° protection
This two-layer coating system is factory applied to the finished plates through an electrostatic-bonding process that ensures 360° protection. The first layer is a zinc-rich base layer for excellent corrosion resistance and barrier protection. The second layer is a polymer finish that provides superior resistance to corrosion, abrasion and inorganic acid, salts or alkali (diluted).

Soil conditions at the installation site can greatly influence your decision. Please refer to the environmental limits table in our Best•Kote brochure or contact your nearest AIL Technical Sales Representative to help determine your site’s requirements.
Best-Kote Polymer Coating is recommended to extend the service lives of any of our structural steel plate products in harsh environments. This includes structural plate arches and bridges, grade separations, road or rail underpasses, stream crossings, fish passages, storm sewers, culverts and protection structures.
